Product Care & Tips
Ensuring your scented candles stay looking and smelling incredible, requires a little bit of care.
We love how handmade candles fill a room with peaceful radiance and scent, especially when they burn correctly (nobody likes them to smoke or go out!). Sometimes all it takes is a little maintenance to ensure it burns beautifully for a long time.

Here are a few candle care suggestions on how to take care of your candles.

STEPS-BY-STEPS CANDLE CARE TIPS:

-
First time you light your candle, be sure to let the wax in your candle melt completely to the edges of the container (about 1 hour) before blowing it out. This will help prevent “tunneling" where only the wax in the center of the candle melts down.

-
For the best candle care, remember to avoid burning any candle for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time. This is a safety precaution and will make it so that your candle can be used again on multiple occasions.
-
Since decorations on candles are all natural dried flowers, remove big decorations before lighting a candle to avoid bigger flames. You can place them again after use while wax is solidifying.
-
Trimming the wick of your candle before you relight it is essential to keeping your candles clean and burning nicely. Always check that the wick is centered in the melted wax and regularly trim to about ¼” tall. One way to do this is by using a wick trimmer which is angled to make it easy. Using a pair of scissors can also do the job.
-
If you don't like the smoke of an extinguished wick, try using a wick snuffer or dipper. A snuffer is placed over the flame, whereas a wick dipper is a bent tool that makes it easy to dip a lit wick into the wax pool to extinguish the flame then pull it back up for the next lighting.
-
To keep dust out of your candle when it is cooled and not in use, remember to cover yours a few hours later with a lid that it may have come with.

Did you know that we now offer Aromatherapy Sprays, all blended by hand by the same artisans who make your candles? Also super nice, reusable fabric pouches for packaging candles!

A FEW CANDLE CARE SAFETY TIPS TO REMEMBER:

-
Never leave a burning candle unattended, or burn on or near anything that might catch fire, or try to move it while it is burning.
-
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
-
Be sure to place candle on a stable, heat resistant surface before lighting. For candles in metal vessels, using a cork or stone coaster is best as they tend to get hotter than others.
-
Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings and debris, including burnt matches.
-
Avoid air drafts which can cause soothing and uneven burning, and remember to burn all candles in a well-ventilated room.
-
As relaxing as it might be, never fall asleep to candlelight! If you prefer a scent while you sleep, a Linen Spray is a safe way to diffuse scent throughout a room during the day and night without needing any flames.
-
Be sure to extinguish and let cool a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly.
-
Know when it’s time to say goodbye... we recommend stopping to use your candle once only ½” of wax remains at the bottom. There are many fun ways to repurpose your candle container after the candle is finished. We've put together a few ideas and tips for reusing your candles here!

SIMPLE WAYS TO REPURPOSE OLD CANDLE JARS

Once you are finished with your candle, there is typically a layer of wax at the bottom. This is normal and actually a safety feature. But leftover wax can be messy to wash away since water and oil do not mix, and you never want to put wax into a drain.
Simple way is to add boiling water in the candle Jar and once wa melts and come on the top of water surface, keep the jar with water and wax in the freezer for about 1 hour. This will help to solidify the wax thats floating on top of the water which can be easily removed and thrown away.
Then jars can be easily washed in same way as regular dishes.

WHAT TO DO WITH EMPTY CANDLE JARS

Once you have an empty candle jar, you can transform it into almost any new use that you can imagine. A few simple ideas are using yours as an organizer for accessories or desk supplies, or adding the glass to your kitchen collection as storage containers.
Anywhere you have small items lying around, such as makeup brushes, loose pens, or paper clips, you can place them in your jar. Depending on the size of your candle jar, you can even use it as a small vase for fresh flowers like lavender in your dining room.
If you love nature in your home, one fun reuse idea is to turn your empty candle jar into a planter pot for flowers, herbs or succulents with a little soil and water.
For the unique hand carved jar collections, those can be used as decorative pieces in your living room or dining tables, so you will never be out of style when your guests arrive.
